Reenactments and Events

Laura and Joan at Prairie Days Festival
Over the years I've attended many reenactments both for pleasure and in the course of doing research. I was invited to participate in the Prairie Days Festival at Shawnee Prairie outside Greenville, Ohio, in September 2011, which gave me the opportunity to assemble a period-correct colonial American costume. I had loads of fun, discovered a new interest, and am planning to expand my wardrobe so I can participate in more reenactments in 2012. I'd also love to do presentations in proper period dress. I'm hoping to add another petticoat or two, plus a short gown and what's called a round gown to give me several different ensembles to wear.
In October, I attended (not in costume) the Gathering at Five Medals at New Paris, Indiana, and again had a terrific time! I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to speak at American colonial and Revolutionary War reenactors groups about any subject of interest. You can contact me via the form at the bottom of the Public Speaking page.
Below are a few photos I took at various events.
